Transfer Speculation Empty

Alan Pardew has hinted that he expects players in and out before the deadline on 2 September.

One can only speculate, but Rasiak and Saga look to the likeliest departures, with at least one striker expected to fill the void.

Who would you like to see in red and white stripes?

Simeon Jackson at Gillingham would be a good acquisition. 18 goals last year and a hat-trick already this season. Joel Porter at Hartlepool and Aaron Wilbraham at MK Dons would be decent signings as well.

Whatever happens, we need two more strikers - ideally with pace to play off Lambert. Paterson isn't good enough (yet) and Mellis is better suited to the wide positions.

Apart from that I don't think we're too far off...maybe a centre midfielder to cover for Hammond and Schneiderlin as Wotton needs to be kept as far away from the pitch as possible. Sorry Wotts, you're a battler but the pace of the game is too much for you these days, as demonstrated at Swindon.

Good post, St David

Quite a few fans are talking about Simeon Jackson. With Rasiak and Saga likely to go, we will have a few pounds to invest, and Saints have shown already, they will go and get somebody if they think him right.

Don't know too much about the other lads, but you've clearly done your homework.

Agree with you with regard to midfield - still need another body.

Would be good to see Simeon Jackson at SMS.

Jaidi at Birmingham match tonight. What's all that about then?
