Southampton

Davis
Murty, Perry, Thomas, Harding
James, Schneiderlin, Wotton, Lallana
Paterson, Saganowski

Bialkowski, Gobern, Lancashire, Gillet, Thomson, Holmes,

Southampton 1 Millwall 1

Saganowski headed tamely wide of the target.

Schneiderlin shoots. Forde saves. Corner taken right-footed by Lallana from the right to the near post.
Shot by Perry from inside the area hits the post.

Paterson nipped in behind the defence, wrestled off the attention, and scored from close range.

Thomas tripped Price in the penalty area, but Dunne's low spot kick was saved well by Davis, who was smartly down to his left. Davis was quick to his feet and save the follow up also.

From the resulting corner, Morison headed against the post, but soon after Abdou found the net from 12 yards out.

Corner taken by Lallana. Perry rises to head narrowly wide.

Saganowski won yet another header in the box, but the resulting effort flashed past the post.

Ball crossed to the back post in the final seconds.
Morison gets up between two Saints players arriving late, and steers the ball behind to safety.

Probably a fair result on reflection.

A bit disappointed we didn' steal it at the death. Morision did incredibly well under pressure to get up and steer his header to safety in the six yard box, when under pressure from both sides.
A late Saints winner would have been a fairy tale start.

But would have taken the draw before a ball was kicked.

Draw is a good result for Saints. And we are going to get better for sure. So Play-Offs possible?

We looked very comfortable until starting to tire. Millwall only really came to life in the last quarter of the game. We will be ok now, and new signings should propel us ever upwards.
